Christian Science has brought so many blessings into my life that it is always a joy to testify to its healing power. Truth was first brought into our home through the healing of my mother of what the physician termed a malignant growth of a cancerous nature, from which she had suffered for many years. After only a few treatments she was able to leave her bed and go to the practitioner's house in a neighboring city. While she was earnestly striving, with the practitioner's help, to understand what God is, she forgot about the physical condition until one day when she realized that the growth had entirely vanished and she was free.

My younger brother was the next one to benefit directly by the truth we were learning. A swelling had appeared on his neck, and he had been sent to the doctor several times after school to have it lanced. Each time the swelling grew again, and the doctor finally said that it would be necessary to put him under opiates and perform a more thorough operation. This he did, and the swelling grew more rapidly and larger than before. After my mother's healing I was asked to take my brother to a practitioner who lived in an adjoining town. She gave him one treatment, and that night the swelling opened naturally, and the condition has never recurred. Truth is indeed "quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword."

I had been troubled practically all my life with nightmares, and one day when I was telling a friend about this she said, "Why don't you stop them?" Then she referred me to Mrs. Eddy's statement in "Retrospection and Introspection" (p. 61), "If you fall asleep, actually conscious of the truth of Christian Science,—namely, that man's harmony is no more to be invaded than the rhythm of the universe,—you cannot awake in fear or suffering of any sort." This seemed almost too much to expect, but I said that I would try it, and I was healed of nightmares.
