Church Notes

The Rockville Journal

Rockville, Connecticut (Society).—Christian Science Society, Rockville, formally dedicated its church building on Sunday, June 28, 1942. A brief history was read by the First Reader. This follows in part:

"In the early part of 1914, Christian Science Society, Rockville, was formed according to the provisions of the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy. Since 1917, Wednesday evening testimony meetings have been held. A Sunday school was started on July 13, 1930. Our first lecture was given on May 15, 1932. On Thanksgiving morning, November 20, 1941, our first service was held in our own church home.

"We humbly acknowledge with a depth of gratitude the munificent gift received under the will of Selina C. Cornish of New York City. We are also most thankful for the grant received from the Trustees under the Will of Mary Baker Eddy, and the loving gifts and assistance from friends and members of this society.

"A dedication service in a Christian Science church signifies that the structure is free of all indebtedness."—The Rockville Journal.
