Pitman Grove Review
Pitman, New Jersey (First Church).—Members of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Pitman, dedicated their new church building on Sunday, April 18, 1943. Services were held in the morning and afternoon.
The First Reader read the following brief historical sketch: "A small group of Christian Scientists started to hold informal meetings in their homes during the year 1921. These same persons formed a Christian Science Society, which became a branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ. Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, in November, 1923.
"Meetings were held for a time in the building now occupied by the American Legion, at Pitman and Simpson Avenues.
