Deep gratitude for Christian Science...

Deep gratitude for Christian Science and for what its practical application brings about, makes me wish to tell of some experiences which may be helpful to others faced perhaps with similar circumstances.

Quite unexpectedly and for the first time in my life my duties took me into submarines. There was absolutely no privacy there, but I decided to continue my study of the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly, and all Mrs. Eddy's works, and such periodicals as I carried, knowing that in my new activity I needed more than ever the truth contained in the Lesson.

In the ninety-first Psalm we read, "He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways;" and Mrs. Eddy defines "angels" in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 581) as "God's thoughts passing to man; spiritual intuitions, pure and perfect; the inspiration of goodness, purity, and immortality, counteracting all evil, sensuality, and mortality."
