Topic: The Healing Work of Christ Jesus
[Rev. Fred A. Line, as quoted in the Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona]
The challenge to the Christian in this hour is to fulfill the dream of brotherhood, to carry the gospel of Jesus to the far corners of the earth and to make that gospel a vital, living force in the lives of men.
The most worthy of all human motives and the most potent is the divine motive—love. For the sake of love have been done the finest deeds of human beings. Jesus made it the very essence of his gospel. "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself." Then followed the parable of the good Samaritan with the inevitable conclusion to be drawn from it, that our neighbor is anyone who is in need. Love is the supreme motive for the practice of brotherhood on a world-wide scale.
