For the innumerable blessings...

For the innumerable blessings which Christian Science has afforded me for many years, I am deeply grateful. My first healing took place when I was a child, when I was suffering from severe biliousness. I shall never forget the impression that this instantaneous healing made upon me, as my mother sat beside my bed reading from the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.

Christian Science has given me much for which to be grateful. It has inspired me with a constant sense of divine protection and guidance. Once, while working for an employer who had the reputation of holding back part of the employee's wages, I was confronted with this situation. I knew that my labor had been honestly done and was well worthy of the wage agreed upon. Immediately, my thought turned to the first line of the Lord's Prayer, "Our Father which art in heaven." At once, I clearly realized that if God was "our" Father, evil could not be personalized and given power, for Truth could never be less than infinite; that my true supply was not material and dependent upon persons, but the realization and expression of ever-present spiritual ideas. When I was handed my pay check I noticed the deduction, and my questioning look seemed to bring an air of embarrassment to my employer. I persisted in my effort to know only perfect God and perfect man, and in about fifteen minutes my employer returned, quite obviously ashamed, admitted the error, and paid the remainder of the wages.
