Too long have I delayed to give thanks to God through the periodicals for all the blessings I have received from my study of Christian Science. For many years I was a member of the Church of England and engaged in humanitarian work among the poor. During this time my health grew steadily worse, till at last I decided God could not have any power in this world, for if He had, He would not allow me to suffer so much, when I was trusting and depending on Him. I thought I had done with religion altogether.

When I was visiting a friend, Christian Science was proposed to me as a means of healing. I went to see a practitioner, and though I had no treatment then, I was healed during the interview of a violent temper, which had always been a great trouble to me.

Since that time, now twenty-one years ago, I have had numerous healings; some were instantaneous, and others came after much study. One of these healings was of a seemingly hopeless case of pneumonia. When I felt myself passing on, I declared audibly twice, "God is my Life," and I was healed instantly. Another healing was of great difficulty in walking.
