The Needed Guidance Always Available

The suggestion that one cannot see what he should do, or that there is no adequate thing for him to do, is always error, a mere mistake of the human mind, Christian Science shows. Therefore the student of this Science soon learns not to be dismayed by any such state of so-called thought, but to take it rather as a challenge to rise mentally and experience the clear guidance of divine wisdom and Love, which is always available. Many of the most precious and exalting experiences of Christian Scientists have come through work done under such conditions and in this way.

We read in the book of Isaiah, "And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left;" and again, "I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee." And these words do not overstate the definiteness, tenderness, and adequacy of the spiritual leading which Science has shown to be available for mankind today.

It must be granted that Mary Baker Eddy, the beloved Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, was qualified to speak on this subject. She had a vast number of the most momentous and difficult decisions to make. It was her special work to impress the world afresh with the Christianity which heals, and to give the world the Science of Christianity; and in the course of this work she had to make all the major decisions connected with the establishment of her church, of each of the Christian Science periodicals, of the public practice of Christian Science, and of various other worldwide activities.
