[Christian Science program over Station WEAF, New York City, conducted by Mr. Russell B. Pettit, May 10, 1942. Subject: "In quietness and in confidence shall be your strength."]

A Christian Science program was conducted from Station WEAF, New York City, on Sunday, May 10, at 12.30 p.m., Eastern War Time, by Mr. Russell B. Pettit of New York City. This program was given under the auspices of the Committee on Publication for the State of New York, with the approval of The Christian Science Board of Directors. The soloist, Mr. Wallace R. Magill, was assisted by a staff organist.

The program opened with a solo, "Thou Wilt Keep Him in Perfect Peace" by Ralph Cox. Then Mr. Pettit read an address substantially as follows:

When the prophet Isaiah declared, "Thus saith the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength," he was proclaiming God's promise of strength to all those who sought Him "in quietness and in confidence." It is generally believed that these qualities in themselves are much to be desired, but their relation to our progress and success has been little realized.
