I, too, am among those who feel impelled to express the warmest gratitude for the great blessings received through the glorious teaching of Christian Science.

Before I knew of this Science I was quite a sufferer. I suffered not only physically but mentally, and because of my many illnesses we also had a considerable struggle with financial difficulties. Twenty-five years ago I contracted a severe heart trouble; at the slightest exertion I had violent pains. Also I suffered for years from stomach trouble, to which I paid little attention at first. This became worse and worse, however, so that I was often forced to resort to medical aid, yet always without result. And so I had to carry on my work while under constant severe pain. Then lesser and greater difficulties were added, among them a serious case of intestinal trouble, and I no longer had any hope of regaining my health. During this time my husband was also very ill, and in 1911 he was completely played out. As we saw that his condition was becoming worse in spite of much medical aid and all possible remedies, I felt quite discouraged. Then my troubles really burst froth. Such intense pains in my back and stomach set in that I could no longer do any work; my appetite left me completely; and I could not sleep at night. I consulted a specialist and was under his treatment for many weeks, also wholly without result.

But "man's extremity is God's opportunity," for loving friends called our attention to Christian Science. I gathered myself together and attended the church services for a time, and then decided to turn to a practitioner, who gladly gave me help. At first I had much to overcome. Also doubts arose, and I caused myself much unnecessary anxiety; but still things kept progressing. The practitioner understood so well how to convey the truth to me that her effort and work were not in vain. In the measure that the understanding of God's ever-present love was awakened in me, the doubts disappeared; and after nine weeks of Christian Science treatment I was completely healed of all my troubles. With joy I testify to the fact that these healings have been permanent.
