Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

Great Britain and Ireland.

The first known reference to Christian Science in the press of this country appeared in the Times of May 26, 1885, but it was not until 1908 that the references to Christian Science began to be systematically collected.

The first record of the work of the Committee on Publication in this country is to be found in a letter from Boston, dated January 27, 1902, from Mr. Alfred Farlow, then Committee on Publication for The Mother Church, to Mr. W. N. Miller, K.C., of London, asking who was Committee on Publication for Great Britain, as the press in London was being neglected. In 1907 an office was organized, then known as the Central Committee on Publication for Great Britain and Ireland.
