Lately I have been reading so many wonderful testimonies...
Lately I have been reading so many wonderful testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals that I, too, feel impelled to voice my gratitude for help given me by Christian Science. I am grateful for ten years of attendance at a Christian Science Sunday School. At the time I did not appreciate half enough the wonderful foundation for later years that I was getting; but the seed of Truth was being sown.
After my marriage, I tended to drift along in Christian Science. Then shortly before our baby girl was born, the doctor told me that if I took a certain trip, I probably should not live; that he already doubted if the baby would live, due to internal injuries from a previous childbirth. I wrote to my mother and arranged to come to her. Together we saw the nothingness of man-made laws and the perfection of God's reflection, man. Needless to say, my nine-pound girl was born in complete harmony.
Six weeks before my last boy was born I fell down a flight of stairs. Instantly I realized that the real man cannot fall, and that nothing can hurt him. A few days later I took a six-hundred-mile trip to my mother's home. Then doubt began to creep in, and my hip seemed swollen and out of place. For four weeks I walked with crutches or a cane. The pain was intense. But I kept on with my housework and doggedly stuck to the truth. Friends urged me to go to a doctor. One night, less than a week before my baby's birth, as I was getting out of bed, I felt something like bones grating together in my hip. The pain gradually lessened, and I knew that I was healed. A few days later a ten-pound boy was born, with very little pain.
