In his letter in Friday's Rand Daily Mail, a writer gives a definition of what he thinks Christian Science is. He describes it as being "a distorted blend of psychology, ethics, and metaphysics."

Christian Science holds that there is, and can be, only one Mind—the infinite All-in-all. Mary Baker Eddy states in her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 465): "God is incorporeal, divine, supreme, infinite Mind, Spirit, Soul, Principle, Life, Truth, Love," these terms being synonymous. This is the highest concept and definition of God which has been given to mankind, and, as it is the gist of Christ Jesus' teaching, it cannot be called distorted.

The ethics taught in Christian Science rest on the Scripture cited by the master Christian, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."
