I wish to express my sincere gratitude for the healing of pride. This error had grown to some proportion and caused me many years of unsuccessful effort and much suffering, because I never attempted anything that was not dominated with the sense of pride of personal accomplishment. Of course, I never succeeded.

I had witnessed many healings in Christian Science, and observed the outstanding success of Scientists in every activity; so I finally sought the aid of a practitioner. She lovingly pointed out the nature of my archenemy, pride. Soon after I learned the cause of my dilemma, its concomitants, sarcasm, profanity, hatred, the taste for liquor and the use of tobacco, all habits of long standing, were healed. To learn that this aggregation of characteristics was not a part of my real self gave me plenty of reason for gratitude. I am very glad to have learned how divine Mind manifests its values. I am also glad to know the purpose of the lives of Christ Jesus and Mary Baker Eddy, God's messengers to the world.

My membership in The Mother Church and a branch church keeps me mindful of the fact that I have enlisted to maintain certain high standards of life which constitute man's real work—a priceless connection.
