I wish to express my deepest gratitude to our Father-Mother God for the healing of my son through Christian Science after an aeroplane crash from a height of one thousand feet. When my boy was picked up he was still strapped to the pilot's seat, which had been wrenched away from the aeroplane to which it was riveted, and flung clear of the wreckage. The remainder of the machine was completely demolished. He was taken unconscious to a hospital, with broken ankle, jaw, and cheek bones, and his face badly cut and bruised. Directly I heard of the crash I asked for help from a Christian Science practitioner, both for the boy and for myself. All through the long night journey to Manchester from London my heart was ringing with the glad certainty that "underneath are the everlasting arms," and though the fear was expressed over the telephone that I should not be in time to see him alive, when I reached his side he had regained consciousness and was able to grasp my hand.

The healing was very beautiful to watch; apart from the necessary dressings, which were soon discarded, no surgical treatment was given, and all the fears entertained for my son's recovery were quickly disproved. Less than four weeks after the crash he drove me up to London in his car, and the following week he drove back alone to resume his work as though nothing had occurred, the only visible sign being a slight scar on his chin. I can never be sufficiently grateful for the support and help given us by the practitioner in this testing time. Her pure spiritual vision lighted the whole way.

I have witnessed and experienced many healings through the application of Christian Science, including the instantaneous healing of a severe dog bite through my hand. I have had constant and wonderful proof of supply. But beyond all physical benefits are the spiritual strength, joy, and peace which Christian Science has brought into my life. For membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church and for the great privilege of class instruction, I am truly grateful. The deep love and gratitude I feel for our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who, through the consecration of her whole life, was able to give us this revelation of the healing Christ, can be expressed only by my trying steadfastly to follow the Master's steps.
