Our Right Place

[Original article in German]

Everyone has had to consider for himself in some way or other the thought of his own right place. In these times, when want and anxiety seem so engrossing, it is especially important and valuable to get the right concept of one's true place.

Christian Science reveals the fact that in reflecting divine Mind there is work enough for all. Through the study of this practical and provable religion we come to understand that as God's likeness each of us reflects God; yea, that the whole wonderful universe, with all its loveliness, is the unfoldment of God's creative power, the expression of the orderly and loving Deity. Many years ago Pope said, "Order is heaven's first law;" and has it not been the hope of aspiring thought from time immemorial to coördinate and harmonize with divine law?

With confidence we expect the succession of day and night, the coming and going of the seasons, and the following of seedtime by harvest. It would never occur to us to expect fruit trees to bloom out of season, the soft starlight to outshine the sun, or a river of its own accord to reverse its flow. We could not conceive of such reversal or confusion even in the material universe. Should it not then seem impossible that man, the highest idea of God, could ever be sick, sinning, or grief-stricken—out of harmony with or in contradistinction to divine Mind; or that a single idea of divine, almighty Mind could ever be out of its right place, the place in the Father's house ordained from all eternity?
