I am unceasingly grateful for the many blessings received...
I am unceasingly grateful for the many blessings received by me and mine through the application of Christian Science.
The healing that stands out most is an experience which out little boy of eight had four years ago. Forgetting that man is spiritual and that God's child is perfect and complete, I had the little fellow's tonsils removed. Then a more serious condition in the form of mastoiditis manifested itself in the back of his right ear. His father, not a Christian Scientist, becoming very much alarmed, requested me to take him to a hospital, and being overcome with fear I yielded to his wishes. Three doctors examined the child and told me that he must be operated upon. But he was already too weak to stand. I looked at them in despair, and then suddenly a great light shone in my consciousness and the words of the ninety-first psalm came to me in part. I again looked at those doctors and rejoiced, realizing that this was all an illusion and that the child was not in bondage, but was being governed by spiritual law. I went to a Christian Science practitioner, and after the first treatment the child became much stronger and regained his appetite. In little less than two weeks the two-edged sword of Truth annihilated this lump of error, and he was completely and permanently healed; and indeed I had great cause for rejoicing. This is only one of the many healings received through the truth. Some healings came through my readubg of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, but most of them through the help of a practitioner.
Our little boy and girl were both healed of measles in two days. They were also healed of constipation through the realization of the truth that God is the only creator, cause, and lawgiver, and that all true activity proceeds from God, who governs man by His unchangeable law of harmony. They were healed of chicken pox in a very short time, and of earache in about fifteen minutes by knowing that true hearing is spiritual. They have also been healed of colds and coughs; and many other clouds of error have been dispelled. My husband was healed of pleurisy in two treatments, and of grippe in about a day and a half.
