In the late summer of 1924, when I seemed to be in the valley of shadows and the darkest hour seemed at hand, the "still small voice" of Truth led me to ask for the help of a Christian Science practitioner. The work was lovingly done, and in one week I was healed of what was thought to be typhoid fever in its last stages. I was also protected from fear of after effects, which mortal mind so commonly attributes to an illness of this nature. Up to that time I knew very little about Christian Science; but the beautiful unfoldment of this healing truth that began to dawn in my consciousness when our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, was placed in my hands, will ever be remembered with joy; as will also the light that was thrown on the Bible, making it a new book to me.

I also wish to express my gratitude for the many other healings I have had, and for the healings of my loved ones who are studying this beautiful religion with me. Most healings have come through the faithful work of dear practitioner, who surely show forth unselfed love; other healings, by our own understanding of the truth. Among the conditions which have been healed for us are colds, sore throat, a badly sprained foot, and ptomaine poisoning. A little year-old niece was healed in a few hours of mercury poisoning; another child in this family was healed after a serious operation for appendicitis, and is now healthy and strong. Words cannot express our gratitude for these proofs of God's loving care. "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases."
