I have always been so grateful for the testimonies of healing in The Christian Science Journal and the Christian Science Sentinel that I am forwarding my testimony in the hope that it will help others as I have been helped. Before becoming interested in Christian Science I went regularly to an osteopathic doctor for treatment, believing that I had to do this in order to keep well. Now I am learning how to "look away from the body into Truth and Love, the Principle of all happiness, harmony, and immortality," as Mrs. Eddy tells us to do in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 261). I did not become interested in Christian Science through healing, but after attending a few of the church services I found I had a religion that satisfies and heals. During the ten years I have been studying Christian Science I have been healed of influenza, severe pain, constipation, colds, lack; also, a great sense of fear and timidity has been overcome.
One healing which will always stand out in my memory as proof that Christian Science heals, was the removal of warts from both my hands in less than two weeks, by holding fast to the truth that there are no imperfections in divine Mind. While on a trip across the continent I was healed of the fear of traveling alone by knowing that God is ever present, guiding and directing me. How could fear be present when God fills all space? The realization of this truth resulted in the companionship of kind friends who were also interested in Christian Science, and while traveling I had the privilege of hearing some wonderful testimonies of God's care and protection. I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, for class instruction, for the privilege of teaching in a Christian Science Sunday School, and for all the other activities of The Mother Church and its branches.
