With a heart filled with gratitude I wish to testify to the healing and blessed power of Christian Science.

As a boy of seven I had an ear disease, and the suffering grew continually worse. At times I had pains in my ears, and then I did not hear well. When I was nineteen I consulted a physician for the first time. Eleven years later I underwent an operation for this ear complaint for the first time, but without avail. Then I was examined by X-ray, and the doctor diagnosed an injured tympanum; it had a hole in it as large as a pin's head. In 1902 I was to report for military service, but was discharged on account of deafness after I had reported three times. In 1915 I was called to military service, but after three weeks' training I was sent to a military hospital in Striegau, where I was thoroughly examined again on account of my ear complaint. The result was that I was discharged on account of deafness and sent home definitely. From time to time I was obliged to seek medical help, but the suffering was relieved only for a short time.

About four years ago I heard of Christian Science. I attended the Sunday services and Wednesday evening testimony meetings and gained confidence in this teaching. I asked a Christian Science practitioner for treatment, which was lovingly given. In three months I was completely healed.
