Mrs. Eddy tells us in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (Pref.,p. vii), "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings." This was proved to me several years ago through a Christian Science lecture. About Thanksgiving time I had been quite ill, but receiving relief quickly through the aid of a practitioner I returned to business and took my place in the rush of the holiday season.

Suddenly, one day, I had a relapse. I managed to keep going, and during my noon hour went to a practitioner. She helped me so much that I was able to finish the day's work. During my visit she mentioned that there was to be a lecture that evening if I cared to attend. I had confessed to her some time before that I had not attended the lectures. Being of a restless, active temperatment, it had seemed impossible for me to sit so long a time and keep my thought enough on the lecture to gain anything from it.

After I reached home that evening I felt quite overcome by fatigue. The strain of the long, busy day left me rather dazed, but something seemed to be urging me to attend the lecture. The thought came to me, The practitioner is doing all she can for you, but she cannot do it all; you must do your part. I realized that if I were willing to make the effort, I must surely gain something from it; so I told my parents I would accompany them.
