When I first came into Christian Science I was ill and...
When I first came into Christian Science I was ill and had no home. Indeed, I seemed to have nothing to live for; everything had been swept away. I was so ill I could hardly work at anything. I finally struggled to attend a Wednesday evening testimony meeting and was directed to a kind friend, who helped me to know more of Christian Science. I found work, and my health began to improve. God also led me to a home: He was guiding me all the way.
I am now improved in health, and we have a fine business. God has been my help and strength, and I have relied solely on His almighty power to help me over all the rough places. I am so happy to write these few lines. Many times it was hard to see the light, for darkness seemed to overwhelm me; but I always had faith.
God never fails us when we earnestly turn to Him. The Scriptures and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy have helped me to know more about God and man. I have also tried to let my light shine for the children of men, so that they may also see the light and thereby glorify God, who is ever willing to help and save. Christian Science does heal, and there is no other way of salvation than to trust in divine Love to heal all inharmony, discord, and disease. There is no problem too great or too small for God to solve. Praise God, who has been my "shield and buckler"! I rest knowing that God is All-in-all, and that I have come to know the peace which no one can take away.
