It is with great gratitude that I send this testimony...
It is with great gratitude that I send this testimony, hoping that others may find help in it. Before coming into Christian Science I was very unhappy; my health was never good, and I knew not what it was to feel strong and well. My church did not satisfy my longing for better things. Although I threw myself heart and soul into the work, still I was not satisfied, and life seemed hardly worth living. Then Christian Science came into my life, my health became good, and I found something worth living for. I have had many healings in Christian Science, such as hernia, fractured ankle, and an internal trouble, of which the hospital had failed to relieve me. One healing I am very grateful for, since it proved that "with God all things are possible." I had a bicycle accident, which occurred on a Tuesday. I was badly cut and bruised; but my greatest trouble was an injury to my leg, which made it very difficult to walk. I wanted to attend church the following Sunday; but this seemed impossible, as I had to walk a mile and then go by bus eight miles to reach the church. For the next four days I held on to the truth, knowing that as it was right for me to go to the service I should be able to get there. When Sunday came I was still very lame, and to walk a mile on a country road seemed impossible;but something urged me to go, and I felt it would be a help to me to get to the service, as I was quite alone, no Scientist being near me. So I went, and during that service I received my healing. I walked the mile to my home from the bus in less than half the time it took going to the service; and I found on reaching home that all the wounds had healed. To that service divine Love had indeed led me. Christian Science is such a help to me in my daily life, when in difficulty. I am very grateful to say that through the study of Christian Science a quick, passionate temper is being overcome. I am trying to reflect love, and nothing else. For membership in The Mother Church, and also in a Christian Science Society, I am very grateful. For the help I have received from practitioners, from Christian Science friends, and from our church services I am indeed grateful also. My greatest desire is to help others as I have been helped.—(Miss) Annie Abbott, Kettering, Northamptonshire, England.
