Among the Churches

Juneau, Alaska (Society).—The Christian Science Society of Juneau has now dedicated its recently acquired church building. It is the custom among Christian Science churches that no special ceremony be observed at their dedications, and that no church be dedicated until it is wholly out of debt. The building was formerly the Presbyterian Mission Church. In January of last year the society was offered this building as a gift by the Masons upon its removal from their lots. The society purchased their lot on Main and Fifth Streets in May and had the building moved during the summer. A furnace, new pews, and other improvements were added. The first service upon completion of the work was held on Sunday, September 19. During the past month a grant was received from the Trustees under the Will of Mary Baker Eddy, which paid all remaining indebtedness on the property.—Stroller's Weekly.
