My attention has been drawn to your reply to a question submitted by a contributor, published under the heading "Question Box" in a recent issue. In this reply you referred to Christian Science in a way that did not indicate correct understanding of it, as, for example, when you called attention to "the Christian Scientists, who speak of prayer, although their denial of a personal God makes the term a mockery." While it is true that God is not defined in Christian Science as a person, if by the term is meant a corporeal or finite person, yet Christian Science gives preference to that which denotes the individuality of God as infinite Spirit; as infinite Life, Truth, and Love. Those who have been healed of sickness through the prayer of spiritual understanding, as taught in Christian Science, do not consider such pertinent proofs of God's ever present help to be "a mockery." Such proofs of healing make practical the prophetic words of James, "The prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall riase him up."

The aforementioned contributor seemed to be earnestly seeking enlightenment relative to the purposes of prayer; yet, I doubt if his query called for mention of Christian Science in your reply. I would appreciate the courtesy of your columns in order to inform him and other readers of the fact that many exemplary Christians are to-day living witnesses to the truth that health is one of the irrefutable signs following the exalted prayer which attributes all power to God.
