Love's Panoply
In human warfare there are few things which concern the combatants more than their means of protection against the assaults of the enemy. To this end they bring to bear all the material resources available. They spare neither time, effort, nor money to surround themselves with every possible defense. They pursue every known avenue of research, that they may make the most of the old and discover new methods whereby to guard themselves from harm. And all this in the endeavor to win advantage each over the other, and largely from a merely personal, material standpoint.
In this day and age men are being confronted with such stupendous as well as multitudinous exigencies that they are beginning to doubt their human ability to meet and master them. They recognize that mere human intelligence is all too feeble to provide the wisdom necessary to cope with the problems of to-day, both individual and collective, both personal and national.
On this human sense of darkness the rays of Christian Science are shedding transcendent light. This Science of God, revealing the availability of divine Love, is the only way whereby men may to-day be protected from the innumerable claims of evil to place and power. When Christian Science emphasizes the fact that God is infinite divine Love, it has put into the hands of mankind the armor of defense against all evil. In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 571) Mrs. Eddy has written: "Clad in the panoply of Love, human hatred cannot reach you. The cement of a higher humanity will unite all interests in the one divinity."
