There appeared in your recent issue, in an article by a reverend doctor, the following words: "The Christian Science Bible (Mrs. Eddy's key to the Scriptures)." In order that your readers may not be misinformed, allow me to say that Christian Scientists use the same Bible that is read in all Protestant churches, the King James Version. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy is just what it purports to be, the Christian Science textbook and a key to the Bible. It was never intended by its author to take the place of the Bible, though occasionally, as in this instance, there have been some who would make it appear so. The first tenet of Christian Science, "As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired Word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life" (Science and Health, p. 497), clearly shows the important part the Bible takes in Christian Science.
