Through the healing of a member of my family I attended a Sunday morning service at a Christian Science church. The following from the Explanatory Note in the Christian Science Quarterly, read by the First Reader,—"Friends: The Bible and the Christian Science textbook are our only preachers. We shall now read Scriptural texts, and their correlative passages from our denominational textbook; these comprise our sermon,"—appealed to me very much. Surely this was a religion to teach me the Bible.
I bought a Quarterly and began to read the Lesson-Sermon each day. Through its study I learned to know something about God and man's relationship to Him. After I had studied several months, while dressing one morning the thought came to me not to wear a truss which I had worn for years, having been told by a physician that I must not go without it until I had had an operation performed. After a busy day the realization suddenly came to me that the healing of the rupture had taken place. Words cannot express my gratitude for this healing, as I had never thought of Christian Science healing a displacement of this kind. It was a wonderful proof of God's power, and showed that divine Principle could be applied to every need.
Four years ago, I gave birth to a child without pain or bondage to any man-made laws. The child has never tasted medicine. I am grateful to have her attend a Christian Science Sunday School, for it is teaching her to apply this truth. Recently she had a growth on her great toe. She declared the truth aloud many times, with the result that in two weeks the growth had disappeared.
