In
a letter to The Christian Science Board of Directors, March 3, 1903.
The
whole world is in need of comfort! And suffering humanity seeks through every avenue of materiality for this comfort, which it so much desires and needs; but it seeks in vain.
Those
who have had the privilege of teaching in the Christian Science Sunday School, or of imparting to their own children some of the great truths brought to light by Christian Science, have many times and in unexpected ways experienced the wonderful unfolding of the right answer to a child's problem, proving that the genuine desire to learn and to impart the truth cannot fail of its purpose.
Our
beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, gives us, on page 210 of "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany," this remarkably clear admonition: "Beloved Christian Scientists, keep your minds so filled with Truth and Love, that sin, disease, and death cannot enter them.
One
of the many rich blessings which Christian Science bestows is the availability to both child and adult of effectual prayer, regardless of circumstance or environment.
Heed thou the message which Love doth impart—Freedom from bondage for each earnest heart.
My attention has been called to a recent editorial in your paper under the heading, "What Hurts?
Christian Scientists turn, it is true, unreservedly to God for help in times of sickness, as in all other difficulties and trials.
We shall appreciate an opportunity to comment upon and correct certain erroneous implications regarding the Christian Science religion contained in a sermon by a South Brooklyn pastor, as reported in your recent issue.
The reference made to Christian Science in an article appearing in a recent issue, furnished by the Fulton Medical Society, is misleading, without, perhaps, intending so to be.
The comments made by an anonymous writer in your recent issue in the Open Forum column and under the heading, "Christian Science and Religion," are so unwarranted and misleading that I beg space for correction.

the illuminating dissertation on faith which appears in the eleventh chapter of Hebrews, many illustrations are given of a happy outcome from the exercise of that quality.

To many who are unfamiliar with Christian Science teaching, the thought of turning to it for relief from financial difficulties does not occur, although they will turn to it for physical healing.
I desire to bear witness to the fact that Christian Science, as revealed to the world by Mary Baker Eddy, does heal the sick.
It is because I gain so much help from reading the testimonies in the Journal and the Sentinel that I feel it is right for me to testify to the immense help that Christian Science is to me, and for the rich blessing it has brought into my life.
For some time I have desired to express my gratitude to Christian Science through the periodicals.
Christian Science has indeed been the Comforter during the past fifteen years of my life.
Feeling it a duty, as well as a privilege, I add my testimony to the many that have already been given.
Deep gratitude for the wonderful healing in Christian Science experienced in the greatest extremity causes me to give this testimony.
About five years ago, while I was visiting a friend in Toronto, Canada, the power of Truth to heal disease, as demonstrated in Christian Science, was brought to my attention.
One morning some years ago, while I was a guest in the home of friends, there was an unusual commotion, and I was told that the cook in lighting the gas range had been badly burned by the ignition of a box of matches which she held in her hand.
Articles from members of The Mother Church and good testimonies from those healed by Christian Science are always welcomed for consideration by the Editors.
