When I heard of Christian Science I was suffering from one of those diseases which are declared by physicians to be incurable. A six months' stay in Davos, Switzerland, had apparently healed me; but on my return to a lower country I experienced a return of the illness (tuberculosis). I was desperate. In this condition Christian Science found me. It taught me that real life is spiritual, not physical, and that much of what I had so far looked upon as being life was but a mortal dream. Now I learned for the first time to understand the omnipotence of God, and man as His image and likeness, as the reflection of the Most High, created by Mind, independent of matter. Man as the spiritual idea of the perfect Mind could not include anything imperfect; therefore, in "the reality of being" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 297) man could not be sick. Little by little I recognized the unreality of the sickness and overcame the fear. After three weeks of Christian Science treatment I was perfectly healed. At a medical examination no trace of the disease was to be found.

Since then three years and a half have elapsed. I married soon after my recovery, and we have two fine boys, the older fourteen months and the younger seven weeks old. Both are perfectly healthy and strong. Christian Science treatment rendered the births of both children very easy. How grateful I am for these wonderful experiences, which gave me a much deeper understanding of Truth!

It would lead too far if I were to mention all the instances in which Christian Science has been a help to my husband, to our children, and to me. I should, however, like to mention two especially quick healings. The older boy, then ten months old, was healed in one night of a very severe cold, and my husband was perfectly healed of very painful hemorrhoids in a single treatment.
