I am very thankful indeed for the strength and comfort...
I am very thankful indeed for the strength and comfort Christian Science has been to me. I was suffering from what the doctors called a fibrous tumor. I could eat only soft food, and suffered from constipation, for which I had to take medicine every few days. When almost a wreck, from suffering and depression, I was told of Christian Science and was willing to try anything. I borrowed a copy of Science and Health and read part of it, but did not believe it as I thought it was not in accordance with the Bible. I sent the book back, but could not rest until I got it again. It was kindly sent to me again at my request. I read a little more of it, and then went to see a practitioner. She talked to me, gave me a treatment, and told me to eat what I liked for supper. I did so and was none the worse for it, and have eaten what I liked ever since. This is now many years ago and Christian Science has since met my every need. Some time ago I had a stroke of paralysis in my left side, from my face down to my foot. I sent word to the same practitioner for help, and in about four or five days I was healed. I think this was a wonderful demonstration. I write this testimony with the hope that some one may be encouraged to try Christian Science, as I was.—Jacob Bucknell, Morchard Bishop, Devonshire, England.
I am pleased to testify that the testimony written by my husband is true in all his statements, also to add that I too have received much comfort and help from the teaching of Christian Science. We both study the Lesson-Sermons together, and we are learning every day that God is "a very present help in trouble."—(Mrs.) M. BUCKNELL.
