I am truly grateful to be able to add my testimony to those of others who have been healed through Christian Science. There seems to be no case so severe that it cannot be reached with its healing balm. Several years ago I was on the verge of collapse, with what the medical fraternity had diagnosed as cancer. I had suffered intensely for some time, and when I began to realize that I had one of those diseases that had been pronounced incurable, I not only suffered physically, but mentally also. It seemed as though my whole system was affected. An X-ray examination revealed a cancerous growth, which materia medica was unable to reduce or relieve. When in this condition I was urged to try Christian Science, as the only possible chance for an extension of my life. A practitioner was selected in a near-by city, and I made arrangements to go there for treatment. After stating my condition to the practitioner, I was asked if I had given up all thought of further medical treatment, and my reply was that I was as satisfied as the doctors were that a healing could not be effected through their system. Treatment was then begun, and in fifteen days a perfect healing was the result. It is now several years since I was healed, and there has been no return of any of the conditions connected with my case at that time.
My gratitude for Christian Science is unbounded. I am grateful to our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for her patient and persevering work for mankind and for her discovery of this Science, to the practitioner for his positive assurance that there is nothing impossible with God, which quickly allayed all fear, so that a normal condition was soon reached. My greatest desire is that I may each day add to my usefulness in the field of Christian Science, devoting myself strictly to its teaching, that my life may attest my sincerity.—(Mrs.) Ellen Benson, Salamanca, New York.
