I am grateful for the physical healing, and still more so...
I am grateful for the physical healing, and still more so for the spiritual enlightenment which results from the study and practice of the teachings of Christian Science. Among the physical ailments from which I have experienced freedom are: a sprained back of long standing, which other treatments failed to heal; headaches, even the suggestion of which rarely ever presents itself lately, and severe colds. I had been subject to five or six severe colds every winter, before studying Christian Science, and each year thereafter they decreased until last winter I had none.
One healing which I have been and am especially grateful for was the overcoming of influenza while in the army. I noticed its symptoms somewhat one evening, and the next morning (Sunday) could scarcely get around. So taking my copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I found a quiet spot along the beach and again read the allegory beginning on page 430, which every Christian Scientist knows so well. This exposed the falsity of the illness so thoroughly that I felt much better in the afternoon and the next morning was normal. I am indeed thankful, too, for the quiet welfare rooms which I found near each camp I was in.
Many erroneous habits, such as smoking, false criticism, and, to a large extent, sensitiveness, lack of self-confidence, fear, and the like, have also yielded to the truth.
