It is always a great joy for me to tell what Christian Science...

It is always a great joy for me to tell what Christian Science has done for me, and the following experience has been very helpful to me. One morning I awoke with all the symptoms of tonsillitis. I had been troubled with this malady for several years and, although I had been helped through many attacks by Christian Science treatment, the trouble seemed to recur constantly. This day it was absolutely necessary for me to be down town in connection with some of the literature work of our church, and I knew that it was the Father's business, and that it was right for me to be about His business. I was able to perform my duties with very little difficulty, but when I returned home in the afternoon I had a well-developed case of tonsillitis. I took our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and lay down to read, but the fever seemed so high the letters just danced on the page. Then the thought came: Well, I can think, if I can't read.

I believe the first thought I had was to rejoice. Mortal mind argued that this was a hard time to rejoice, and then I started comparing my life then with what it was before I knew of Christian Science. Where once discord and ill health, lack and unhappiness seemed to reign, now all was peace and joy and harmony. I saw then, as I had never seen before, what Christian Science had done for me and I was so grateful I soon found myself rejoicing with all my heart. When the time came to prepare dinner for my family I still rejoiced about everything I had to do, and although the physical symptoms seemed more alarming than ever, through this constant rejoicing and gratitude I seemed to be above the suffering. Gradually the fever went down, the throat opened, and by ten o'clock that night I was completely and perfectly healed. This happened several years ago and I have never had a recurrence of the trouble. This experience has been a great help to me and I have found that no argument of error can stand long before a grateful, rejoicing heart.
