In the Preface to "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures"...
In the Preface to "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mrs. Eddy says: "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings." For many years divine Love has met my every need and sometimes the needs seemed many. I, like many others, came to Christian Science for a physical healing. I was instantaneously healed of fever, while rheumatism, weak eyes, and a difficulty for which a serious operation was thought necessary disappeared within a few months without any special treatment. These healings have all been permanent. I am truly grateful for the many spiritual, physical, and financial healings which I have witnessed in a family of eight, most of which were realized quickly through the truth which Jesus said would make us free. I will relate a demonstration of supply which was made at a time when my husband saw the need of finding a new position within a few weeks. At times he seemed to let fear of lack come in on account of the large family he had to support, with not very much in the way of finances. At the end of the first week conditions did not seem very encouraging, but the second week he had a splendid offer in the same line of business (he had been manager of a lumber company) and two days later another offer came from a company who said they were glad he was free to take charge of and control a very large plant, one which he was not acquainted with at all. At first he refused this offer, telling them that he did not want the position, thinking a more experienced man necessary. They insisted and he accepted, his salary being just double what it had been. Truly, as Mrs. Eddy says, "Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way" (Science and Health, p. 454). I am so grateful for class instruction, also for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church. Great as have been the physical, financial, and material blessings they cannot be compared with the continuous inward joy, peace, and happiness that come to us in proportion as we realize the ever presence of infinite, all-embracing Life, Truth, and Love, God, our Father-Mother.—(Mrs.) Georgia Schulze, Melville, Louisiana.
I wish to verify this statement of my wife as we have surely been blessed, and feel that all our blessings have come through the understanding of the truth we have gained from the teachings of our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. For the many blessings we have received I am very thankful, and hope to grow more worthy of them.—R. E. Schulze.
