Salt Lake City, Utah.—First Church of Christ, Scientist, in the winter of 1909 had grown to such an extent that the church building was not large enough to accommodate all those desiring to attend the services, so it was decided to branch out and form a second church. This was done in December, 1909. Services were thereafter held by Second Church of Christ, Scientist, in various halls, and a building fund was established. During the following year a plot of ground was purchased in a most desirable location. In the mean time the building fund continued to grow, until it reached a point where it was considered wise to commence the erection of a church. A building committee was appointed from the membership, a contract let, and ground was broken on Aug. 23 for a church edifice with a seating capacity of seven hundred and fifty, and with suitable Sunday school rooms, committee rooms, cloak rooms, and so on. The building, which is to be completed by April 30, 1916, with the organ and furnishings, will cost approximately sixty thousand dollars.—Correspondence.
