With a heart full of gratitude, I send this testimony of the healing power of Truth. For years I had never been really well, but eight and a half years ago I was so seriously ill that our family doctor was called in. He said I was suffering from extreme nervousness and weakness, also a stomach disorder. Then for five months everything was tried that materia medica could propose, but all to no purpose. It is utterly impossible to describe that part of my existence; the intense fear coupled with the exhaustion was unbearable. I prayed that God would help me; I knew there was no other help for me, only by and through Him.

A faithful friend, a Christian Scientist, had occasionally mentioned Christian Science to me, but I never listened; however, in my great need I wrote to her, saying I would try anything if only I could be helped. This lady came to me, and in consequence I at once bought a copy of Science and Health and began to read it; next I found I must study it, and lastly, that I must live its teachings.

Everything now is changed. I can truly say, "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases." What this knowledge is to me, I can only express by a life wholly consecrated to our Father-Mother God, to whom I am every day more thankful for all His love to me. I can truly say that the healing is permanent. I am glad and grateful for the tender, loving life of our Leader, Mrs. Eddy. The way indeed grows brighter and brighter unto the perfect day.
