One Saturday in August, 1912, I was stricken with a severe cold, which settled on my lungs, the latter becoming so congested that breathing was experienced with difficulty. Under materia medica a well-developed case of acute lung trouble would have been the verdict. A practitioner was called to give Christian Science treatment, and within two hours I was able to lie down and sleep, resting quietly and comfortably all night. The following afternoon I went driving, and on Monday morning reported at my desk, much to the surprise of several in the office who had expressed the opinion, after my leaving them on Saturday afternoon, that a siege of several weeks would be my lot.

I am deeply thankful to God for all the blessings I am experiencing from Christian Science, and grateful to Mrs. Eddy for having found a way which enables practitioners effectively to apply the Principle.
