[Written for the Sentinel]

Press On

Press on, for the sake of those hungry ones
Who are looking to you for bread.
Press on, that the sick, the sinning, the faint,
To their Father's house may be led.
Press on, that the weaker brother who halts,
Nor deems the victory near,
Seeing your faith and your steadfast hope,
May conquer his doubt and fear.

Press on, for the love of the Master, who
A far steeper path hath trod.
Press on, as did he, to the fuller life
And the larger thought of God.
Press on, and the vision of the Christ
Shall bring to you and to me
That knowledge of Truth which shall cover the earth
As the waters cover the sea.
