Out of gratitude for the great good I have received through Christian Science, I give my testimony, and hope it will be a message of cheer to some one who is as full of fear as I was before knowing this teaching. From infancy I was always ailing; then came lung trouble, and I felt that this was the beginning of the end, two in the family having passed on from this complaint. I did all I could, however, to gain strength, even to drinking bullock's blood twice weekly; but I did not improve, and was getting tired of taking all sorts of nauseating things in the effort to do so. Man's extremity was, however, God's opportunity in my case. I was told of Christian Science and a Scientist offered to help me. I shall never forget the great kindness and love shown to me. After my first talk with her I felt that I wanted to know God as she knew Him; fear seemed to leave me, and I went home determined to give Christian Science a fair trial. I gave up all my material remedies, and only once after this did the hemorrhage return; but it soon disappeared. I now go out in any kind of weather, do any kind of work I want to, and have no fear of bad results. Friends can hardly believe I am the same woman; only lately a friend said, "I remember I once thought you were not long for this world, you were looking so dreadfully ill."

I also had treatment at the birth of our little girl. Though I was unable to have the same practitioner, I received much help and kindness, and the truth of Christian Science was again proved to us. At one time things did not seem to be going on rightly, so we wired to the practitioner, who came and stayed some hours but had to return to Southampton that night. It was beautiful the way that all fear left those in the house after she came; my husband, who is not a Scientist, did not even mention a doctor. The baby arrived the next morning, I was up the second day, and at the end of the week was quite myself. The nurse told me that had I had materia medica, it would have been a case for instruments, and that the child would perhaps not have been alive. It was a wonderful case to her. I also used to suffer greatly from ulcers on the eyes. This too has left me since I have known of Christian Science.

It would take pages to tell all that Christian Science has done for me. Needless to say, I am very grateful for the healing I have received, and words cannot express the gratitude I feel to our dear Leader for the understanding which I am daily getting of God's love and goodness to His every child. The Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy are my two greatest treasures, and my sincere desire is to let my light so shine that it may be the means of bringing others to know of this blessed truth.
