It is with great rejoicing that I acknowledge God to be...

It is with great rejoicing that I acknowledge God to be the giver of all good gifts, and Mrs. Eddy as the Discoverer in this age of the "pearl of great price," Christian Science. Through its teachings I have been helped physically, mentally, morally, financially, and spiritually.

There is one healing in particular for which I am very grateful, that of an acute form of eye trouble, on account of the spiritual quickening which I received at that time. While in itself the disease was not painful, this healing meant more to me than did other healings in attacks of lung trouble, a chronic throat difficulty, escape from the operating-table, and the overcoming of many lesser ailments. The healing of the eye was instantaneous, and the treatment an absent one. The throat trouble was overcome by the faithful study of our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." Words fail to express the joy I experienced at that time. I felt that I had indeed been resurrected, and I discerned, in a degree, "a new heaven and a new earth." On page 487 of Science and Health Mrs. Eddy says: "There is more Christianity in seeing and hearing spiritually than materially."
