AMONG THE CHURCHES

Atchison, Kan.—As the construction of the new Christian Science church, at Fourth and Santa Fe streets, nears completion, it discloses an imposing structure of the Grecian Ionic order. While a small church, it will compare in beauty with the famous Christian Science churches of the larger cities. Atchison people have little idea of the magnificence of the interior. Its style and richness will prove a revelation. The auditorium will seat four hundred, and this can be increased to five hundred by throwing open the commodious foyer. The contractor has promised to have the church completed for use Easter Sunday.—Atchison Globe.

Brooklyn, N. Y.—The first large Christian Science temple erected in Brooklyn was opened informally Nov. 17. It is First Church of Christ, Scientist, and is at New York avenue and Dean street. The old building has been outgrown by the congregation, and it was deemed advisable to hold the services in the new structure, which is not quite finished, at the earliest possible date. The church is of white stone, and seats ten hundred and thirty-six persons. Payment is being made as the work progresses, and the outlay so far has been two hundred and forty thousand dollars.
