I wish to give my testimony of what Christian Science has done for me and my family. About four years ago my little girl had a fall which injured her hip and spine. It did not, however, give any trouble for several months afterward, and when she became ill the accident had been forgotten. We called in a doctor, who said she had rheumatism. He treated her for some time, but she got no better, so we finally called in another. By this time she could not raise herself up without crying out in pain. This doctor said she had kidney trouble; but after a little time she got better, and began her first term of school. A few months later, however, she had another spell, and the doctor said we would have to take her out of school, as she had hip trouble. Her limb had stopped growing and she walked very badly. She would cry with the pain every night, and more than once we both cried. I finally thought of the fall and spoke to the doctor about it. On examining her back, he found a very serious condition of the spinal column and then he said she had spinal disease.

I was greatly worried and did not know what to do, as besides the little girl's illness I was just then coming out of an attack of rheumatism (which usually lasted from two to six weeks), so we decided to go East for a few months. We did so, and both seemed to be much better. After we had been at home a short time, the little girl began to go to school again, but she had gone only one month when we had to take her out. It was then that my husband and I decided to try Christian Science, although we did not know anything about it; but we thought it could do her no harm. I went to see a practitioner, and she said that the child could be healed. To our joy she was healed in one treatment, although the Scientist gave her one more to satisfy me, as the healing was so sudden that I could hardly believe it.

It is now over two years since the child was healed. Afterward the practitioner treated me for a skin disease, from which I am now entirely cured, and the rheumatism has left me through the reading of Science and Health and learning the power of Truth. My husband was also healed from poisoning caused by a nail piercing his foot. Is it any wonder that I am thankful to God, who has thus freed us from sin and disease!
