As a last resort I gave Christian Science a trial, after four years of helplessness caused by an accident, resulting in serious injuries. For many months I was unable to step out of the house, any motion of the body causing me great suffering. I spent many weeks in a hospital, and while there some abnormal growths were removed. I returned home, but never regained strength, or even freedom from suffering. For two years I remained in a state of mental and physical misery, watching the activities of other young people and wondering if I would ever be able to join with them. Feeling that life held nothing more for me, I could not understand why God (as I then supposed He did) should send such suffering upon human beings.

At this time a friend induced me to try Christian Science, and took me to a practitioner for treatment. I left there joyful over the possibility of being well. In a short time I was entirely healed of extreme physical exhaustion and severe bowel troubles. At the end of six months I could walk four and five miles without discomfort. At this time a business position was secured, which I have held over two years without missing a day. I am entirely healed of the ill turns which formerly confined me to bed for several days at a time, and have greatly improved sight and hearing. I had been deaf from childhood, but am now hearing better than ever before in my life. I have been able to overcome a sense of financial limitation, and to take a step that previously the fear of lack of means withheld from me. Christian Science has been a great help to me in meeting the problems of business life, making me more efficient and successful in my work, opening a new life of greater possibilities and higher motives, and giving me strength and confidence in place of inharmony and uncertainty, a mental and physical freedom which I had never known before.

I am deeply grateful for this abundant good which Christian Science has made possible for me, and for the loving, faithful work of Mrs. Eddy in giving this truth to the world.
