When Christian Science was recommended to me as a remedial agent, I was a very sick woman, neuralgia, heart trouble, and weaknesses peculiar to women being the predominant troubles. The doctors (and I had many) were able to give me but temporary relief, and that by hypodermic injections. My healing in Christian Science seemed very slow, as I had accepted it only for physical results, and I clung very tenaciously to the "old man with his deeds;" but as soon as I was willing to become as a little child and to believe that "it is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing," the healing came with joy in its wings.

I continually give God the glory that I am not only a well, strong woman, but that I can also help others to know that man in God's image cannot be sick or discordant. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" has opened up the Bible to me in a most glorious manner. All my life I had listened to sermons which touched very lightly on God's love, but gave most startling accounts of His wrath and vengeance and how He sent all sorts of disaster and sickness to His chosen ones in order to prove them. I had also been taught to believe in a powerful devil that was ever ready to seize us if we succumbed to temptations. Often after hearing such a sermon I was afraid to go out; but, thanks be to God, Christian Science has taken away those false concepts and has given me a God so full of love that He cannot behold evil. It has also proven to me that if, as Mrs. Eddy bids us, we keep our consciousness "filled with Truth and Love" (Pamphlet, What our Leader Says), we shall not know the devil, evil. Every day new beauties unfold in my consciousness of God's love, omnipotence, and omnipresence. Our dear Leader has made it very plain to all who wish to study her works that Jesus' teachings are ever to remain operative and that he meant all he said when he told his followers that the works he did they should do also. But in order to follow Jesus' teachings we must live the truth and not merely preach it.

I cannot begin to enumerate all the blessings that are mine, but the greatest in the mental regeneration. In clinging to the thought that "the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof," I have been helped greatly when a sense of lack presented itself to me, and the supply has been bountiful since I realize that it is in Mind. My love and gratitude go out to Mrs. Eddy, who proved herself such a willing channel for the spreading of this grand new-old truth which heals all our diseases. I am also grateful to the Christian Science Publishing Society for the beautiful messages they send through the literature each week. Before the Monitor was sent forth it seemed impossible for me to keep abreast of the times, as the daily papers were so depressing that I did not care to read them; but now the dear Monitor gives me all the information I care for. Its pages are fraught with instructive journalism. The "Home Forum" page is most interesting as well as educational. I also wish to pledge my fealty to and cooperation with the Board of Directors of The Mother Church.
