I wish to express my love and gratitude to God, and in the hope that it may help some one I give this testimony. When Christian Science found me, four years ago, I was in an almost hopeless condition, having tried some of the best doctors for eight years. I was told I could never expect to get well, but that I might be benefited by two operations, or I would become still worse. My youngest child being only four months old at that time, I would not give my consent to an operation. I was then told by a friend that I could be healed in Christian Science. It seemed impossible to me, but I was told that with God all things are possible, and that many were healed through the understanding they gained by reading Science and Health with the Bible. I then read the testimonies in a Sentinel, and felt sure if Christian Science healed others it would heal me.

Science and Health was loaned to me and I began reading it. I soon found that God is Love and "a very present help" in our need; and that God does not send suffering to His children. I had been taught that God sent sickness, and that I should be patient until He took it from me; but, thanks to the teaching of Christian Science, I found God to be Love, and that the promises in the Bible were true for us today. With the little understanding I gained and put into practice each day, I was healed in a few weeks of a complication of heart, stomach, liver, and kidney disease, and in six weeks I had overcome a severe bowel trouble of many years' standing. I had diete for many years, but now I was able to eat everything without suffering. After eight months of studying Science and Health I could say that the truth had set me free, a female disorder being overcome, also catarrh of eighteen years' standing. I was also able to lay aside glasses which I had worn for five years.

I should also like to tell of the healing of a severe attack of croup in three treatments with the help of a practitioner. In the four years of honest striving I have had many proofs of the overcoming of evil with the power of Truth. My gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me cannot be expressed in words. My great desire is to show by my life how thankful I am to God, also to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for this beautiful truth which sets the captive free. I am indeed thankful for my physical healing, but it is not to be compared with the spiritual quickening I have gained and that peace "which passeth all understanding."—Mrs. Robert Malzahn, West Bend, Wis.
