It is with the sincerest gratitude that I acknowledge the help which I have experienced through the teachings of Christian Science at a time when I was altogether weary of life. A deep gulf yawned before me, as I was unable to reconcile religion with science or even with daily life. I lost more and more faith in God, in men, and in all good; I saw only evil everywhere, and for years never entered a church. Besides this I had a violent disposition, was addicted to evil habits, and swayed by passion. At last a lung trouble was added, and all I could look forward to was an early end, and I wished it would come soon.

Five years ago, however, the book "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy came into my hands, and I began to read and to study it. During that time the lung disease and the other ailments disappeared one after the other, as well as the mental and moral disorders. I also found God, and began to see that religion, science, and life really do accord. Mrs. Eddy's writings have become gratitude for indispensable to me so that I have a feeling of deep gratitude for our dear Leader, and I thank God for her work.—Meinrad Schnewlin, Bern, Switzerland.
