As Christian Science is the greatest blessing which has...
As Christian Science is the greatest blessing which has ever come into my life, I wish to express publicly my gratitude for it. I am deeply grateful that when the truth was presented to me I was ready to accept it; and although at first it seemed "too good to be true," as I prove the truth of its teachings for myself and others, I am learning that only the good is true, and my gratitude for all it has brought me grows accordingly.
I turned to Christian Science on the advice of an aunt, hoping to find through its teachings the physical healing so greatly desired. I had never been well or strong, and as drugs had failed to benefit me, I was discouraged and unhappy. Through the study of Christian Science I have grown stronger, and many physical ills have been entirely overcome, so that I am able to lead a more normal and useful life. These blessings mean a great deal to me, but the help and comfort and joy that Christian Science is in my every-day life means very much more. At times, when tempted to discouragement because of the great distance between my present attainment and the goal of all right desires, I find encouragement in the assurance which Mrs. Eddy has given us, both by her words and her life, that "progress is the law of God" (Science and Health, p. 233); and I am trusting that, as I put into practise my present understanding of Christian Science, I shall grow more and more worthy to be called a Christian Scientist.
My heart goes out in gratitude to God for all His goodness; also to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for giving us "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and for all the channels through which Christian Science is reaching out for and redeeming the thought of the whole world.
