It is with a sense of gratitude to God for what Christian Science...

It is with a sense of gratitude to God for what Christian Science has done for my family and myself, that I offer this testimony of healing. In the fall of 1908 my little girl, then six years of age, became very ill with what proved to be a serious case of throat trouble. After treating the child for a week myself, the conditions became so alarming that I decided to bring her to San Antonio. My husband and I set out to find a practitioner, and divine Love led us to the home of one who gave the little girl treatment. Immediately the child asked for something to eat (up to this time she had seemed almost unable to swallow and had no appetite), and we spent the rest of the day pleasantly. That was the last of the trouble, and not only was she helped in this way but since this experience she has been less self-willed and more loving.

The following spring my husband suffered intensely. from an attack of rheumatism, which for three years had held him in bondage for months at a time. He had the kind and sympathetic care of a physician, who recommended a change of climate after every other material means failed even to relieve him. We came to Texas from North Carolina, and the change seemed beneficial, but he was warned not to go east of San Antonio. He did so, however, and the old trouble returned with accelerated force. My husband then requested me to write to a Christian Science practitioner, and this I did at once. The practitioner began treatment Monday night, and by Wednesday my husband was perfectly free. He has had no return of the disease, although he has spent the greater part of the past fourteen months in other states.

In August of 1910 a baby was born to us under Christian Science treatment. A practitioner gave me absent treatment, and the child was born within thirty minutes from the time the midwife entered the house. I had had two children born under materia medica, and the midwife predicted the same troubles which I had experienced on the previous occasions; but these were promptly met with and overcome by Christian Science. The child was born on Saturday, and I had dinner with the family on Sunday; in fact, I did not spend a single day in bed. The child and I are both in perfect health, which fact is undeniably due to the help received in Christian Science.
