I have long desired to tell what comfort and help Christian Science has brought to myself and family. I was very skeptical, and slow to accept my sister's advice and try the treatment for my little daughter, who was declared to have tubercular disease of the lungs, four reputable physicians having examined her and stated their opinion that it would take at least a year's time to heal the child; but when we accepted Christian Science treatment for her, she was completely healed in three weeks. One of the doctors who had previously examined her, declared he could not find the spot which was said to have been affected. This was about twelve years ago, and she never has had a return of the trouble.

I was very happy over the recovery, but laid it away on a shelf, so to speak, for future use, not realizing that Truth is an ever-present help in every time of need. We went through troubles of all kinds, even losing a baby boy, before we were ready to open our hearts to the truth. Six years after my daughter's healing, she seemed to be in an alarming condition, and when Christian Science was again recommended to me, I hailed it with joy. Again it met the need, so that in two weeks all were congratulating us on the improved appearance of the girl; and this time we were sufficiently grateful to want to know more and to investigate its teachings for ourselves. Since then the truth has been our only remedy.

I myself had suffered for twenty years with rheumatic trouble, which had kept me in bed three weeks at a time, but Christian Science has healed me. On one occasion, when the severity of the pain had caused a paralyzed condition of the leg, a Christian Science practitioner was called, and in a few moments I was so relieved that I got up perfectly well. Many minor troubles have also been overcome, proving that when we keep our thoughts right, good is always victorious. Formerly, in trying to be economical, I was constantly anxious regarding supply, fearing lack always; but now, with the assurance that God always meets our needs, the old worries are forgotten, and every day I thank God for all the blessings that have come to us with Christian Science, and pray that I may be shown the way to walk closer with Him.
